It’s a Maryland homer article. There is a point there to be made...
His logic supports the fact that Maryland basketball has been just fine in the B1G, despite losing rivalries with ACC teams their fans care about. He also points out that Louisville is trailer trash, despite having a top ranked basketball program. (Hmm... VT fans have been correctly pointing out the Cardinals complete lack of ethics since the early 1980’s). And if Junior had left the article there... he would of been fine.
But there is no justification that the ACC is worse off since Maryland’s absense. Football is on the rise big time (and the Terps would only bring the conference down in that sport). ACC hoops is rediculously tough. To say that the conference misses Maryland in hoops is laughable. ACC 11 - B1G 3 in the latest challenge. Would I trade Maryland for Louisville straight up? Sure. But to say the ACC is worse off since losing Maryland is a big time overreach.
